SUEP Holds WLA Black Hole and Aerospace Technology Summit

The 2nd Annual Forum of World Laureates Association (WLA) with the theme of “Technology, for the Common Destiny of Mankind” was officially opened in Shanghai on October 29. On the afternoon of October 30, the WLA Black Hole and Aerospace Technology Summit was held at the Academic Report Hall on Lingang Campus of SUEP. More than 300 people participated in the summit, including 8 Nobel Prize winners, academicians from Chinese Academy of Sciences and Chinese Academy of Engineering, young scientists, invited guests and registered guests.

This summit mainly discussed the cutting-edge and key technologies in the field of fundamental physics, such as astrophysics, quantum physics and micro-physics; it covered the cutting-edge technologies in such fields as black holes, dark matter, quantum entanglement, space acceleration, quantum satellites and aerospace, which explores the unknown space and the innovative future of the space industry.

Teachers and students of the school were impressed by the laureates’ speeches. “I learn the progress in the research of astrophysics, quantum physics and micro-physics, and see personality charm of these scholars and their attitudes to scientific research. Their speeches will play a positive role in promoting future scientific researches, and international exchange and cooperation activities,” said Professor Liu Yongsheng, dean of the College of Mathematics and Physics.
