On December 22, Higher Education Office of Shanghai Municipal Commission of Education, Shanghai Society for Industrial and Applied Mathematics, and the Organizing Committee of China Undergraduate Mathematical Contest in Modeling in Shanghai Division held the Award Ceremony of 2017 “Higher Education Press Cup” China Undergraduate Mathematical Contest in Modeling of Shanghai Division. Nearly 110,000 college students from China’s 34 provinces/ municipals/ regions (including Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan) and 1,418 colleges/ campuses of Singapore and Austria took part in the contest.
The team comprised of Niu Yifan, Chen Wei and Li Han from the School of Mathematics and Physics of SUEP won national first prize, and the team comprised of Yu Zicong, Wu Xinjia and Lv Jinzhen from the School of Electrical Engineering won national second prize. In addition, 9 teams were awarded municipal prizes.
