1- Year Chinese Language-focused Foundation Course
Shanghai University of Electric Power offers long-term Chinese Language Course. The course are for those who does not have a word of Chinese but hope to grasp Chinese with a fair ability in speaking, listening and writing.
Target --- you are expected to pass the HSK 4 test after the completion of the 1-year study even if you do not know a word of Chinese
Remarkable Record --- In 2007, 10 international students with not a word of Chinese enrolled for this 1-year program and after 1 year 9 of them successfully passed HSK 4 test and continued their study for bachelor degree at SUEP
Supplements --- For those who wish to continue their study for a bachelor degree in engineering and/or science, they will be given the chance to study mathematics, physics and/or chemistry in order to lay a solid foundation for undergraduate study. The subjects of mathematics, physics and chemistry will all be taught in English.
Tuition Fee—
CNY12,000/per academic year for the Chinese Language Course Only;
CNY18,000/per academic year for Chinese language-focused (foundation) course.

When the course starts---
The course starts in the 3rd week of September every year and finishes in the 4th week of June the following year.
