1.Overseas students who have successfully graduated from high school;

2.and who have already passed HSK 4;

When to Apply---

The deadline of the application is the end of August of each academic year; however if you wish to apply for the scholarship, you need to apply for the place before the end of June.

1)Electrical engineering and automation


The students receive basic training in electrical engineering, automation, electric motors, electronic and information control, and computer technology. Equipped with the ability and skills to solve problems in the fields of electrical engineering and controlling, electrical and electronic technologies, the graduates can engage themselves in a wide range of work related to electricity, electrical engineering, includingproduction, operation, management, planning, design, construction, as well as teaching, scientific research, product development and marketing.

Program features:

Since its opening date this speciality has had a rapid development in the discipline and it involves a strong combination of electrical and electronic systems including software and hardware components. This program will combine the theoretical and practical features in the electrical engineering field. The students mainly study electrical engineering technology, electronics technology, information technology, computer control technology, a broad base of knowledge and expertise in electrical engineering and power engineering.


Main subjects :

Fundamentals of Electric circuits, electronics, electrical engineering, power electronics, signals and systems processing, automatic systems, computer control technology and other specialized courses. Power system analysis, substations and power plant relay protection, high voltage engineering, electrical systems, automatic devices of power system and other specialized courses, as well as different professional elective courses in this subject area.



2)Energy and power engineering

Training objectives:

The students mainly study the basic theory of power engineering and thermal physics engineering. They learn transformation of various forms of energies, theory and technology of effective use of different forms of energies. On graduation, they are supposed to be able to undertake tasks of design, production, operation, testing and research, installation and development in the fields of thermal power engineering, air-conditioning and refrigeration projects.

Program features:

This program was one of the first independent undergraduate majors in our College, with more than 60 years of history, its predecessor, the thermal energy and power engineering, focused mainly on the theory of electricity production, currently it offers training, in terms of power generation, operation and management, with strong characteristics of electricity and industrial advantage. After decades of development it became one of the key majors in our university.

Main subjects:

Computer based, and mechanical drawing, mechanical theory , mechanical design, electronic technology,electrical equipment,control principle and system, thermal engineering,hydrodynamics, heat energy principles, turbine principle, boiler principles, nuclear power technology, GT and joint cycle, thermal power plant, cycle flow of boilers, refrigeration principles and equipment, air regulation,wind power technology, clean coal technology,nuclear power technology, network technologyand Enterprise energy management.


3)Computer science and technology

Training objectives

Through systematic study of the basic theory and techniques of computer science and technology which includes hardware, software and their application, the graduates are equipped with the ability to take up work in computer and computer-based network and data communication applications such as software and hardware design, research and development in institutions and IT industry.


Program features:

Compared with the computer science and technology in Colleges and universities in China, the teachers have done pioneering work in the program setting, laboratory construction and teaching materials. At present, the program has been incorporated into the Shanghai innovation and entrepreneurship experiment base construction planning.



Main subjects:

Computer science, advanced programming, introduction to computer architecture and assembly language,computer networks, data structures, operating systems, discrete mathematics, compiler theory, software engineering, databases, interfaces, power real-time information system, electric power information foundation.


4)Electronic information engineering

Training objectives:

The students study the specialty knowledge of electrical information engineering, undergo fundamental electronic and information engineering practice. Equipped with the basic ability to design, develop, apply and integrate the electronic equipment and information system, the graduates can be engaged in work related to research and manufacture of electronic products, the development of information system and computer software, audio video signal processing.

Program features:

This major focuses on the field of electronic and information engineering. After completing training in this major the students would have gained the basic knowledge in electronic technology and information systems which involves all kinds of electronic equipment and information systems design, manufacture, application and development of advanced engineering . Graduates can be engaged in various industries in the design, manufacture, application and development of various electronic devices and information systems.

Digital Circuits, analog electronics, digital electronics, digital system design, high-frequency electronic circuits, signals and systems, single-chip microcomputer interface principle and application of single chip microcomputer technology, communications theory, digital signal processing and digital communications, information systems and database technologies, information and communication networks, principles and application of DPS, based on information processing, and application of SOPC technology in embedded systems, information warfare and security.



5)Business Administration

Training objectives:

This program aims at training talents of business administration, who possess modern ideas of management and are familiar with characteristics and laws of business administration at home and abroad. The graduates are expected to have solid foundation in economics, management, computer and foreign language. They are applicable to diversified jobs.

Program features

After completing this course, the students will gain the knowledge and ability of economy management, legal and other aspects of the modern business management theory and methods. The students will also gain proficiency in the use of computer and foreign languages, with strong language, written expression and interpersonal communication and coordination ability they can work in the industrial and commercial enterprises, power system, financial institutions, institutions and government departments at all levels in the human resources management, financial management and marketing sector.

6)International Economics and Trade

Training objectives

The students are expected to proficiently command English, master the basic theories of International Economics and International Trade, and be familiar with China’s foreign trade laws and policies. With the fundamental knowledge and skills of international trade business, the students are expected to grow into professionals who can be engaged in practical business, management, R&D, promotion and planning in the foreign-related trade units, foreign-invested enterprises and government institutions.

7)Applied Chemistry

Training objectives

The program orientation is focused to the development and application of basic theoretical research and application of new technology, new materials, new products and new technology combining science and engineering professionalism with power-binding characteristics. The professional training is based on solid, reasonable knowledge structure and innovation ability cultivation. Graduates can work in the chemical water treatment system equipment and coal, gas, nuclear, and environmental protection industries of power system operation, design, installation and commissioning.

Program features

The major gives preference to application in thepower industries specificallythe water treatment field. The curriculum puts more emphasis on the water production processing principles , boiler water quality control, cooling water quality stabilization technology, industrial oil, industrial coal and thermal equipment corrosion and protection.
