According to the latest data released by ESI on September 11th, 2019, the paper published by Professor Xu Qunjie from the College of Environmental and Chemical Engineering was selected as ESI Highly Cited Paper in 2019. SUEP has made important progress in high-level papers.

Professor Xu Qunjie, who is from Shanghai Key Laboratory of Materials Protection and Advanced Materials in Electric Power, has made great progress in the study of anode catalysts for fuel cells. The research findings were published in the journal of ACS Applied Materials & Interfaces (SCI I section, with the influence factor of 8.456, ACS Appl. Mater. Interfaces 2019, 11, 5136−5145) with the title of “Black Phosphorus−Graphene Heterostructure-Supported Pd Nanoparticles with Superior Activity and Stability for Ethanol Electro-oxidation”. The first author of the paper is Wu Tong, a postgraduate (currently studies for a PhD in Chinese Academy of Sciences) majoring in applied chemistry, supervised by Professor Xu Qunjie.

Direct ethanol fuel cells (DEFCs) are almost certainly considered a good choice for next-generation energy suppliers. Electrocatalysts play an important role in solid fuel cell system and have good selectivity for ethanol oxidation reaction (EOR). The results of this study are of great guiding significance for the design and preparation of direct ethanol fuel cell anode catalysts, and have important application prospects in the development of high performance and low cost fuel cells.

The work was supported by the National Natural Science Foundation of China and Shanghai Key Laboratory of Materials Protection and Advanced Materials in Electric Power.
