On the morning of September 25, a symposium on retired comrades to commemorate the 70th anniversary of the founding of new China was ceremoniously held at the Small Auditorium of Yangpu Campus. Retired leaders, aged professors, retired backbones and student representatives from the College of Automation Engineering attended the symposium.
Professor Cao Jialin, president of Senior Professors Association and former president of SUEP, first made a speech. He looked back on the splendid history of new China with deep feelings, recalled his personal education experiences in nearly 40 years, and told about the days when he worked as the president of SUEP. Later, the representatives of the old comrades spoke in turn. Qian Shensheng, the student representative from the College of Automation Engineering, was inspired and grateful for the leapfrog development of SUEP in recent years. Shi Qiguang, former deputy secretary of the Party Committee of SUEP, pointed out that today’s symposium was a good form for both older generation of SUEPers and young students to express their love for the Communist Party and the new China.
“On the occasion of the 70th anniversary of the founding of the People’s Republic of China, generations of SUEPers gather here to eulogize the new era and bless the motherland. The symposium is of great significance, carrying on the past and opening up the future,” said Weng Peifen, deputy secretary of the Party Committee of SUEP.
