SUEP Holds 18th Annual Literature Meeting for Japanese Teachers in Shanghai Colleges and Universities

On November 30, SUEP held the 18th Annual Literature Meeting for Japanese Teachers in Shanghai Colleges and Universities, and the 12th Japanese-Chinese Translation Seminar and the 3rd Annual Meeting of Shanghai Branch.

The theme of the annual meeting covered such fields as literature, translation, linguistics and Japanese teaching. Participants included Professor Tan Jinghua, former executive vice president of Shanghai International Studies University, Professor Xiu Gang, director of the Japanese Sub-committee of the Foreign Language and Literature Teaching Steering Committee of the Ministry of Education, and other experts and scholars, as well as about 120 Japanese teachers from colleges and universities across China. This meeting was presided over by Wen Zhonglian, head of the regional and national research team of the College of Foreign Languages of SUEP, and Zhao Yueqin, deputy dean of the College delivered a speech.

In addition to the traditional speeches and group discussions in the fields of literature, translation and linguistics, the round-table forums and a series of special lectures were also conducted. This seminar will promote the communication and exchange of Japanese education between Shanghai and its surrounding areas, and at the same time contribute to the construction of Japanese major in SUEP.
