Then the alarm rang, and thousands of teachers and students bowed their heads in silence to express their deep sorrow for the dead compatriots. The Peace Declaration on National Memorial Day for Nanjing Massacre Victims recited by student representatives conveyed the belief that SUEP students will take history as a mirror to revitalize China.

Li Yanling pointed out in his speech that today’s commemoration activity is not only to honor the compatriots who died in Nanjing Massacre and the Anti-Japanese War, but also to call all teachers, students and contemporary citizens’ yearning for and adherence to peace. Remembering the history is to inherit the future and remembering the martyrs is to maintain peace. Students should remember the history, have firm ideals and convictions, study hard, and strive to become a qualified builder and reliable successor of socialism with Chinese characteristics.
