Early 2020 witnessed the outbreak of novel corona-virus. The CPC Central Committee promptly made arrangements to comprehensively strengthen the centralized and unified leadership for the epidemic prevention and control work. On February 23rd,General Secretary Xi Jinping delivered an important speech at the deployment meeting of pursing coordinated progress in epidemic prevention and control and economic and social development. In March, SUEP Party Committee Central Group for Theoretical Learning specially studied the spirit of the speech, and discussed how to make coordinated progress in epidemic prevention and control and the development of the school.
Li Mingfu, secretary of the Party Committee of SUEP, stressed that we should further improve our understanding of the importance of epidemic prevention work, strengthen our belief that we are in the fight and pay more attention to the practical work.
Li Hexing, president of SUEP, said that he has carefully studied this important speech, and will pay close attention to the ideological trends of teachers and students, defend the leadership of the Party and the socialist road, and resolutely put his heart and soul into the work of epidemic prevention and control and the development of the school, in accordance with the deployment of the Party Central Committee and Shanghai Municipal People’s Government.
Weng Peifen, the deputy secretary of the Party Committee of SUEP, said that we should take this epidemic as an opportunity to further promote the reform and development of our school and make unremitting efforts to advance the construction of a high-level application-oriented university.
Feng Jinzhang, the vice president of SUEP, believed that the life safety and physical health of all teachers and students should always be put first. We should not only fully conduct epidemic prevention, but also actively open online classes for students.
