SUEP Holds "Sino - German Cloud Forum on Building Energy Efficiency Improvement"

In order to enhance the integration of the university with regional economy and energy industry, and actively advance energy cooperation between China and Europe, the Sino-German Cloud Forum on Building Energy Efficiency Improvement, was organized by Shanghai New Energy Talent Technology and Education Exchange Center and College of Continuing Education of SUEP in the Conference Room of the Administrative Center on Yangpu Campus on October 13.

This forum was hosted by Huangpu District of Shanghai and undertaken by our school. The theme of the forum was pooling global wisdom, innovative ideas and new perspectives to seek new development. In addition to on-site leaders and experts from Shanghai Municipal Commission of Housing and Urban-rural Development, the Development and Reform Commission of Huangpu District and other departments, experts from Germany, Sweden, the Netherlands and Beijing delivered keynote speeches on the cloud forum, and provided customized plans for improving the building energy efficiency in Shanghai.

Gao Hong, director of the Energy Conservation Department of the National Energy Conservation Center, delivered a keynote speech, explaining China’s latest policies and representative cases of building energy conservation. Dr. He Jijiang from Energy Transformation Center, School of Social Science, Tsinghua University, introduced the investigation and research of BIPV (Building Integrated Photovoltaics) in Europe, and suggested bringing BIPV (such as rooftop and photovoltaic sunshine room) into the scope of green construction encouragement policy. German Energy Efficiency Expert Yeonshared Germany's goals, policies, technologies in building energy efficiency and cooperation with China in the field of passive housing. Chen Zhuolun, an energy efficiency expert at the United Nations Environment Programme, provided valuable advice on building energy efficiency development from the perspectives of regional energy system and the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals.
