In the mid of September, Mr. Liu Zhu, a teacher in the College of Adult Education of Kashgar University and the former teaching leader of SUEP’s teaching center in Kashgar University in Xinjiang’s correspondence station, shared a message on the Wechat Moments: To help local villagers get rid of poverty, high-quality and self-produced honey and snow chrysanthemum are now available for sale. Qiu Xuwen, an admission teacher of the College of Continuing Education, immediately forwarded this message to the group of the College. I want a kilogram of snow chrysanthemum! I want two kilos of honey! This group was heated up.

The fire of purchase rather than donation was ignited and the torch of making a contribution to poverty alleviation was soon passed on to the College of Continuing Education. Kashgar is a main battleground of poverty alleviation in Xinjiang and is partnered with Shanghai. In 2018, Li Mingfu, secretary of the Party Committee of SUEP, as a examiner, published the project entitled providing continuous assistance to Xinjiang. And the College of Continuing Education responded first and acted as the answerer :

In July 2018, the College launched the Intellectual Aid to Xinjiang Program, and expanded the teaching center of continuing education to Kashgar by overcoming the difficulties of remote geographical location and high cost of sending education to Xinjiang. In 2019, the College successfully enrolled 117 students for adult education in Xinjiang, making contributions to solving urgent problems of the local industry and demonstrating its due social responsibility on behalf of the school. In 2020, the College carried out targeted poverty alleviation in the way of purchase rather than donation, so that more faculty and staff of SUEP had the opportunity and ability to participate in the project of providing continuous assistance to Xinjiang.

It is a happy thing to be able to help others, and SUEPers will try their best to continue this kind of happiness.
