On the morning of October 23rd, the conference of commemorating the 70th anniversary of Chinese people’s volunteers’ participation in the war to resist US aggression and aid Korea was held in the Great Hall of the People in Beijing, and General Secretary Xi Jinping delivered an important speech. Teachers and students of SUEP watched and listened to it through TV, radio, Internet and other media, and expressed their feelings one after another in combination with their own work and study.
Li Mingfu, secretary of the Party committee of SUEP, Xi Longgui, a retired teacher and 90-year-old veteran of the volunteer army to resist US aggression and aid Korea, Zhao Ling, secretary of the Party committee of the College of Electrical Engineering, etc. expressed their views. They believed that the victory of the war to resist US aggression and aid Korea is the victory of justice, peace and the people. The great spirit forged by the war is precious spiritual wealth, which will inspire the Chinese people and the nation to overcome all difficulties, obstacles and powerful enemies
Ling Mingfu said: This year is a critical year for the university. It is realizing the first step of the three-step medium- and long-term development goal and formulating the 14th five-year plan of SUEP. We should raise political awareness, set the right direction for development, deeply study and publicize the heroic deeds and revolutionary spirit of the Chinese People's Volunteer Army. We should learn well the history of the party, the history of new China, the history of reform and opening up, and the history of socialist development, and stay true to our original aspiration of cultivating talents for the country, so as to train qualified socialist builders and successors, and make greater contributions to enhancing the strength of promoting social development and safeguarding world peace.
