On October 31st, the second student representative congress of SUEP was held at the Performance Hall in Student Activity Center on Lingang campus. Wang Zelin, standing executive chairman of Shanghai Students’ Federation, Jin Fei, secretary of the Youth League Committee of SUEP, and secretaries of the Youth League Committee of secondary colleges presented the meeting. Student union representatives from the sister universities in Shanghai, and 157 student representatives from SUEP attended the meeting. The congress learned the congratulatory letter sent by General Secretary Xi Jinping to the opening of the plenary session of the 13th Committee of All-China Youth Federation and the 27th congress of the All-China Students’ Federation, and the spirit of remarks delivered by the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China. The Work Report of the First Student Union of SUEP, the Proposal Work Report of the Second Student Representative Congress of SUEP and the Plan for Deeper Reform of SUEP Student Union’s Organizational Structure were reviewed and discussed, and the new presidium of the student union were elected.
This congress summed up the work completed by the student union and students’ federation in the past year, and pointed out the direction and path for the reform and development in the next stage. All the delegates said that after the meeting, they will earnestly study and understand the spirit of the meeting, convey it to every grassroots student, and contribute their wisdom and strength to the construction of a high-level application-oriented university.
