TEM4 and TEM8, two authoritative tests exclusively for the English majors at the undergraduate level, are commissioned by the Ministry of Education and organized by the Steering Committee of Higher Education on Majors of Foreign Languages. They are designed to test their comprehensive linguistic competence. To a certain degree the results of TEM4 and TEM8 can be used to measure the quality and level of the College of Foreign Languages of a university in educating English majors and training talents. The two tests are held annually, but the due to the Covid-19 Pandemic, both TEM4 and TEM8 have been postponed till this year.

In recent years, so far as the passing rate is concerned, the students from the College of Foreign Languages of our university have broken one record after another, which fully displays the achievements we have achieved in consolidating morality education as our crucial mission and building up a high-level regional university. One the other hand, it reflects that we have achieved great effects in enhancing the quality of professional training, in reinforcing the core status of talent training and in propelling the connotative development of our English major. By taking advantage of the opportunities that we have been authorized to recruit MTI graduates and we are encouraged to launch programs on new liberal arts reform and practice, our college will continue to improve the educational quality and the disciplinary competitiveness and strive to create a new situation favorable to the development of our college.
