Under Way the 19th National Job Fair for Recruiting Talents of Electric Power (Lag of Shanghai) at This University

On October 31st, the 19th National Job Fair for Recruiting Talents of Electric Power (Tournament, Lag of Shanghai) was under way on the playground of Southern Yangpu Campus of this university. The Office of Student Affairs, managerial staffs from all the colleges, and the counselors in charge of Class 2018 went to the onsite to navigate the graduates how to prepare for job-hunting.

The job fair was sponsored by the State Grid Corporation of China and undertaken by our university. More than 70 companies came to recruit talents to graduate from the university in 2022. Among them there are Shanghai Municipal Electric Power Company affiliated to the State Grid, State Grid Yingda Group, China National Coal Group Corp, Huadian Heavy Industries Co. Ltd., Shanghai Electric Group, China Com-service Co. Ltd., Hudong-China Shipbuilding (Group) Co. Ltd., Shanghai Electric Power Construction Co. Ltd. (SEPC), TBEA Co. Ltd., and Shanghai Chengtou Investment Group, to name just a few. More than 400 graduates-to-be from our university were attracted to the ad loco.

At the job fair, the graduates-to-be communicated face-to-face with the interviewers dispatched by the companies. They submitted their job applications and showed their general aptitudes and academic ascendency. To help the graduates-to-be gain a better knowledge of the relevant recruitment information, the Office of Student Affairs of this university had upgraded intentionally the homepage for employment before the job fair, offering them a channel to submit their job applications online and having them know the market demands in advance and how to mail out resumes so that with good preparations they would win the battle of employment. All the colleges of this university hesitated not to lend their hands to guide them how to prepare for job-hunting. The councilors in charge of Class 2018 provided them intense guidance in job-hunting so that they would adapt themselves to the new working environment very soon.  

    Strict precautions have been taken to fight against the Covid-19 Pandemic while the job fair was under way. Everyone must have their identities checked before they enter into the playground. They were also required to wear facial masks all the time. As for the companies who came to recruit talents, they were all demanded to submit a commitment for prevention and control of the Pandemic along with a report of nucleic acid test so that the job fair could be conducted safely in an orderly manner.
