Activities Hosted for Students of National Minorities to Study the History of the Party, Feel Her Grace and Develop a Sense of Community of the Chinese Nation

To promote educational and managerial services for the students of national minorities at this university, build up a mutually interplayed campus environment that tolerates differences and diversities, strengthen the communication and integration between all the students of national minorities, navigate the young students to enhance the Four Senses, consolidate the Four Self-confidences, ensure the Two Maintenances, conscientiously strengthen Five Identifications, and develop a strong sense of community of the Chinese nation, the Department of Students’ Work joined efforts with the colleges to host a series of activities for them to study the history of the Communist Party of China, feel her grace and develop a sense of community of the Chinese nation.

Students Summoned to Watch the Video President Xi Jinping Addressed the 100th Anniversary of the Founding of CPC

On the afternoon of November 12th, all the Students of national minorities of this university were summoned in Room 105, a conference hall in the Academics Building to watch the video in which President Xi Jinping addressed the 100th anniversary of the founding of the Communist Party of China. This activity was hosted by Wuerguli Abdullahiti, a counselor from the Department of Students’ Work exclusively at the service of the students of national minorities. In the address President Xi Jinping reviewed with much emotion the Odysseus Journey how the Party led Chinese people to pave the way, fight for the great cause, and achieve remarkable achievements during the past century. He summarized and extracted the Great Spirit in the founders of the Party which has spread its influence since its establishment. On hearing the prescription by President Xi Jinping that the young Chinese people in the new era should undertake the mission to realize the national rejuvenation of the Chinese nation, strengthen their enterprising spirit and moral integrity and boost up their confidence so that they will go with the current of the times, seize the day and the live up to the expectations of the Party and the people”, all the students present burst into applause. After the meeting, the chosen students said that they will follow the advice of President Xi Jinping and strive to be qualified constructors and successors of the great cause in the new era.

Quality Development Competition with the Theme Unite to Strive for Win-win Launched for Students of Domestic Nationalities

On the afternoon of November 12th, together with all the colleges of this university, the Department of Students’ Work started a quality development competition with the theme Unite to strive for win-win in the athletic field on Lin’gang Campus. More than 80 students of Han nationality and national minorities ran for it. Chen Shanshan, vice director of the Department of Students’ Work (in charge), addressed at the opening ceremony. She made an introduction of the purposes and background of this activity and encouraged that all the students seize the opportunity to strengthen the communication and exchange between all the domestic nationalities, strive to enhance their competence in cooperation and self-study, and join efforts to create a more beautiful university life.

Through the competition, all the participants gave full play to their wisdom and their spirit of companionship. They completed the games such as competition for interlocking, rope jumping, shuttlecock kicking, hauling grain back to the barn and so on. Eventually the College of Economics and Management went through the fierce competition and grabbed the first prize while the Best Organization Award went to the College of Computer Science and Technology and the College of Environment and Chemical Engineering.    

A General Knowledge Contest Ode to the Glorious History and the New Trends of the Times Conducted for the Students of National Minorities

On the afternoon of November 26th, a general knowledge contest in the theme Ode to the Glorious Journey and the New Trend of the Times about the history of our Party and our university was conducted among the Students of national minorities in Room 307 in the Academic Building on Lingang Campus. Cheng Yong, vice director of the Department of Students’ Work, attended the event with Wuerguli Abdullahiti, a full-time counselor serving the students of national minorities, Liu Jia, Han Linchen, Munila Awubak and Abdu Rusuli Maimaiming from the concerned colleges.

Cheng Yong addressed before the competition. He urged that all the students get a better knowledge of the great achievements achieved by the Communist Party of China (CPC) through the contest, and of how the Party has forged glory in suffering, accessed to success through exploration, created a new situation in the transitional periods, and ensured a bright future with a hundred years of struggle; Meanwhile,  they should have a deeper understanding of the history of this university, hold firm faith, and carry forward the fine tradition with higher spirits to learn and strive constantly for improvements of their overall competence.

The general knowledge consisted of three types: compulsory questions, push-button questions and prize-or-punishment questions. The competition was very fierce, but the contesters were attentive and with a wide scope of knowledge, they could always give precise answers. In the end, the first group prize went to the College of Telecommunications and Information Engineering, and the Top Popularity Award to Hai Shuyu, a student from the College of Environment and Chemical Engineering.

This year witnessed the 100th anniversary of the founding of the Communist Party of China (CPC) and the 70th anniversary of the establishment of our university. The series of activities Learn the History of the Party, Feel her Grace and Develop a Sense of Community of the Chinese nation” were intended to help the students of national minorities review the glorious struggling history of CPC and the development of this university and to arouse them of a deep love for the Party and for the university so that all the students of national minorities will have the chance to develop themselves into all-round talents.
