The famous Peking Opera actress Wang Peiyu gave a lecture in our school on November 13th. She introduced the origin and rhyme of Peking Opera, talked about the older generation’s struggles and performing experience, and corrected general public's wrong understanding about Peking Opera.
In Q&A session, Wang Peiyu expressed her views on the spread of Peking Opera. By combining Beijing Opera with the media in the new era, she is trying to popularize the traditional Chinese culture. Seeing more and more young people appreciate and like Beijing Opera, she is glad and hopes such traditional Chinese culture can be better inherited and carried forward.
