A Promotion Meeting Held Lately for Consummating the Think-tank on Energy and Power

On the afternoon of June 17, an online promotion meeting was held to propel the construction of energy and power think-tank at this university, which was presided by Li Qifen, director of the scientific research department and attended by Fu Yang, one of the vice presidents of SUEP, and concerned staffs, directors and deans from the Party Office, Department of Publicity, Division of Scientific Research, Think-Tank of Energy and Power, Science and Technology Innovation Center, and all the affiliated colleges.

Yang Yingchun, a teacher from the management of the Energy and Power Think-Tank, reviewed the experience they gained in building up the Think-Tank last year, and reported their plan, progress for each stage in 2022, and their pondering over the sustainable development and quality improvement. As the major backups of the think-tank, the concerned managerial staffs from the College of Economics and Management, the Institute of Marxism Studies and the College of Foreign Languages exchanged their opinions revolving the importance of the construction of the think-tank, the relationship between the think-tank and scientific research, and the actual practice in reality. Shi Xiaohan, director of the Office of University Party Committee, and Zhang Zongfeng, deputy director of the same office, expressed their views on how to expand the social interworks of the think-tank, to highlight the university’s disciplinary features in energy and power, to enhance the academic advantages in terms of teams, and to build a unique brand of this university. Zhao Zheng, deputy director of the Department of Publicity, shared his ideas from four aspects on how to strengthen the ideological management of the think-tank, including the channels to submit, the platforms to publicize, the results to release, and lectures to apply.

The meeting was highly valued by the affiliated colleges (or centers). And the concerned deans and directors conducted an extensive and in-depth communication on the team building of the think-tank, how to write reports exclusively for the think-tank, and how to introduce the excitation mechanism. Centering on the previous problems emerged in building the think-tank, the Office of Academic Studies made clear on how to improve the efficiency in choosing programs and submitting them to the think-tank and assigning the invited papers along with an elaborated clarification of the incentive initiative for the results of think-tank.

Fu Yang delivered a concluding mobilization speech at the end of the meeting. He affirmed the achievements previously achieved by the think-tank, instructing how to use the platform to submit in the next phase. He stressed that it is badly needed to enhance our awareness, recognize the complementary relationship between the think-tank and scientific research, and encourage high-level professors to participate in building the think-tank; We should focus on our own research, pay more attention to hot issues of the industry so that more professional experience will be gained and the quality of submitting exclusive programs will be improved; We should open the think-tank to all so that it can play its fullest part, and we strengthen interdisciplinary integration so that better decisions will be made and better consulting results will be achieved; We should focus on problem-oriented and goal-oriented strategies so as to serve the purposes to facilitate the economic growth and social development of both the country and Shanghai so that the influence and reputation of our university will be continuously spread.
