On October 12th, a book-launching ceremony in the theme of Integrated Circuit Book Series with the seminar Integrated Circuit Innovation and Development and the Cultivation of Young Talents , sponsored by Fudan University and Shanghai S &T Association, was held in Shanghai Science Hall. Xu Lei, vice president of Fudan University, Jiang Haitao, deputy secretary of the Party Committee of Shanghai Guosheng (Group) Co., Ltd., and Chen Xin, member of the Party Committee Group and vice president of Shanghai Science and Technology Association, addressed one by one at the opening ceremony. Huang Dongmei, vice president of SUEP, was invited to the roundtable on “Integrated Circuit Innovation and Development and the Cultivation of Young Talents”.

Among the distinguished guests invited to the roundtable, who are experts and scholars from domestic universities and enterprises, there are Zhuang Songlin, an academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering, and Huang Dongmei from our university. Huang shared the experience what measures our university has taken in the enrollment and talent training in the specialties of integrated circuit design and integrated system, arguing that the IC industry is a strategic, basic and directive indicator for the national economy and social development, and now its technological level and developmental scale have become an important indicator of a country's industrial competitiveness and general national strength.

Today the availability of talents for the industry of integrated circuit is found very difficult to meet with the factual marketing demands. In accordance with the national strategy and the marketing demands, we made preparations in advance for the integrated circuit design and the specialty of integrated system, which has entered into the first echelon of new specialties in recent years so far as enrollment is concerned. Considering the factual demands of the concerned industry, the college has been trying to strengthen cooperation with enterprises dealing in integrated circuit, work out training programs, enhance the quality of talent training, and meet the marketing demands of talents for the industry of integrated circuit. At the same time, we expect that enterprises will take active actions to strengthen cooperation with universities in curriculum design, teacher training and lab construction so that they will make greater contributions to the cultivation of talents for the industry of integrated circuit. Zhao Yan, deputy dean of the College of Electronics and Information Engineering, and Ruan Ying, who is in charge of the integrated circuit design and integrated system of the college, were also invited to attend the symposium.
